IKO Cambridge Dual Grey: A Roofing Project Success Story

We recently completed a roofing project where the old roof was in poor condition. The previous shingles had been installed incorrectly, causing performance issues and early shingle failure. To address this, we stripped the roof down to the old sheathing. Then, we installed IKO Cambridge 30-year architectural shingles in the Dual Grey color. This shade offers a modern look while still meeting cool roof standards.

The patio roof was in even worse shape. It required 11 new sheets of plywood, and we had to restore some of the framing members. The original plywood was so deteriorated that it had large, rotted holes. After completing the wood repairs, we installed a Polyglass SBS Modified roofing system. In the end, the roof came out perfectly, and we were very pleased with the result.

IKO Cambridge Cool Colors shingles can be used to comply with California’s Title 24, Part 6 cool roof requirements to help reduce a home’s carbon footprint, potentially reduce home energy bills and possibly increase property values. Now, IKO’s NEW COOL and COOL PLUS color blends with an SRI of 20 or greater can boost a roof’s reflectivity by 25 percent over the Title 24, Part 6 minimum standard of SRI 16 for steep sloped roofs!
